serving in the systems

KNOWLEDGE IS PUFFER

Want to hear a great conspiracy?

There is a secret, esoteric power working to enslave you, but not by taking anything away; this power is working to enslave you by giving you everything you wanted.

This isn’t new; our enemy has been doing this since the garden.  “Did God really say, ‘You must not eat from any tree in the garden’?” He’s been working to give us everything we thought we wanted since the beginning.

My big caution for us today is this: how much knowledge…how much “truth” do you need to know before you begin do what is right? And to do what is right in front of you?

Our technology today is setup in a way to feed us everything it thinks we want. Do you want to know the “truth” behind a great government conspiracy? Do you want the dark secrets of a great minister to be brought to out into the light? Do you want to know what your neighbor says about you when you’re not there?

We, as a society, are being fed knowledge that we are not prepared for. And the worst part about it is that we are being fed only partial truths. Crafty long, overly complex plays by the devil.

I wish our answer was as simple as this: “Do not look into these things, do not listen to this hidden knowledge. And do not worry about what the devil is doing.”

No, we should not be completely ignorant to what he is doing.  However, we must be in control our appetites. We must be intentional about what’s beneficial to know, and what is not. The key issue is not that we will never fully know the truth regarding some evil in the world; the real issue is this: “knowledge” is working to make everyone an unbeliever.

If you have become so dissatisfied with the way things are run in this world, eventually you will no longer believe in its systems, policies, structures, and so forth. For example, many believe the stock market to be rigged by larger corporations and greedy politicians. Why do we believe this? We have been given knowledge that this is the case.

Is it true? Maybe. Partially. Maybe even wholly. But is having a stock market altogether a bad thing? And even more, should we wish for the entire thing to collapse?

No, we should not. We should not wish for the destruction of a thing unless we are already working on building the replacement, or an alternative.  When becoming truly disenfranchised with a system turns you toward apathy, or even worse, you are already becoming an unbeliever.

What then should we hope for? Shouldn’t we wish for the corrupt systems of this world to be exposed and brought to justice, even if through collapse?

Let’s begin to resolve here: did we so easily forget that the first book in the Bible after the book of Acts, which came with the baptism of the Holy Spirit, was Romans? These Christians were Roman citizens. Living, holding church and growing the body of believers, in the heart of Rome.

Did they wish for the collapse of Rome? Did they pray for the overthrow of Caesar? Did their Lord Jesus ever say, “I don’t pay taxes because this system is corrupt.”

Do you believe Rome was less corrupt than your nation? Than your state? Than your city? There’s no way!

We are called to believers! And you may say, “Yes, believers in Jesus!” and rightly so. But believers believe!

There are systems and structures currently in place that should never exist on this Earth; these are illegal in God’s eyes. But they are obvious and I don’t need to list these. But we must carefully divide and rightly judge all things. For example, a greedy bank is just a corrupted bank. Can this bank repent and become a good bank? Of course it can.

The church should step up against corruption and evil if it’s in your realm and power to do so. But let us remain builders and doers. If we are tempted to complain against the status quo in any sphere of life, then you must go build its replacement. Or get in there and change the norm, and reform its culture with love.

Do not forget Daniel served a near one-world government ruler, and the Lord turned that man into a believer! Do not forget that Nehemiah served a near one-world government ruler, who later sent endless wealth to the body of believers. Do not forget the entire city of Nineveh turned back to God after a discouraged, disenfranchised, non-believing believer repented himself, and became a believing believer again! He not only became a believer again in God, but also in what God cared about: his people, his cities.

It’s true that there is much corruption today; but remember, there is even more smoke and mirrors. Keep yourselves from corruption by controlling your appetite. If you focus too much on what the devil is doing, you may become like him!
